Today’s Solemnity of All Saints replaces the observance of the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time. Each year on November 1st the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of All Saints. This is the day on which we honor all those, both known and unknown, who had lived their lives in conformity to the Gospel. Their ranks include Old Testament and New Testament personages. Among the New Testament Saints are the Apostles, martyrs, confessors, virgins, doctors, widows and others who are recognized by the Church as living virtuous lives.

The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Gudalupe will be at the First Friday Devotion at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, on Friday, November 6th,at 6:30 PM.

An Advent Retreat sponsored by the St. Monica Guild of St Cecilia's will be held on Saturday, 12/5/15, at St. Francis Resort in Denville, NJ, from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Stay tuned for more details in upcoming church bulletins.

Today marks the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time as we gather to celebrate the Lord’s Day! The Gospel Acclamation for the Mass is “Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.” In the Gospel the Lord Jesus brings the blind man Bartimaeus out of his physical darkness and into the light of faith.

Michael Cosmo Wheelwright and Cameron Angelo Skladany were baptized at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish on October 18th. We welcome them into our parish community. Please pray for them and their families

The New Jersey Right to Life Raffle tickets will be sold on October 24, and 25th, 2015 after all of the Masses. Raffle tickets are $10.00 each.

Today we celebrate the Lord’s Day! This is a day of great rejoicing as we recall the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ which had occurred on this, the first day of the week. We mark the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time and hear from the Gospel of Saint Mark the words of Jesus, “For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Yes, the Lord Jesus calls all of us to follow Him in service and also reminds us that in following Him we will find suffering.
