Music Ministry

Welcome! Interested in joining the Music Ministry at Sacred Heart? Contact our Music Director, Derek Nelson, at 201-213-3393, [email protected], or just show up to a rehearsal!
If you feel called to serve in this very important ministry in any way, we can find a way to help you answer that call through the various music ministry positions:
- Cantor
- Organist
- Instrumentalist
- Adult Choir
- Youth Choir (ages 14 – twenty-something)
- Children’s Choir (ages 6 and up)
These positions are all filled by current parishioners (like yourself?) who have answered the call to help beautify our liturgical celebrations.
Generally, the choirs rehearse every Thursday evening in the choir loft (Children 6:30-7:15 PM, Adults 7:30-8:30 PM). The Adult Choir sings every Sunday at the 10 AM Mass. The Children’s Choir sings every other Sunday at the 8:30 AM Mass. There are also many special liturgies throughout the year that call for the choirs to sing. Please see the calendar for specific dates and times.
The Youth Choir is forthcoming and will begin rehearsals this summer, 2014. Contact Derek (information above) if you’re interested.
